THE ART OF THE BRICK

Have you played LEGO®? Are you a fan of it? Do you stick to the manual of the typical box set or build something out of the box? Well...Nathan Sawaya certainly did something out of the ordinary.

Who is Nathan Sawaya? What did he do?

Nathan Sawaya is a New York-based artist who creates awe-inspiring works of art out of LEGO® bricks. Nathan Sawaya was the first artist to ever take LEGO into the art world. His works ranges from small figurines to large-scale sculptures using only toy building blocks.

Nathan Sawaya's art was shown in galleries across US; New York, Miami and Maui. And now, for the 1st time in Singapore, at the Art Science Museum.

I didn't know what to expect from the exhibition except for the fact that i will be looking at LEGO bricks. After viewing the whole show, i must say that i am totally blown away. Nathan Sawaya's art pieces are so detailed and creative. Take for instance, the T-Rex skeleton. It's made up of approximately 28,000 pieces of blocks. That's INSANE!!! Nathan Sawaya spent the whole summer creating the statue.

In conclusion, 2 thumbs up for The Art Of The Brick Exhibition.
